At the helm of this historic estate of Tavel, Guillaume Demoulin always wants to go forward. The main reserve of the vineyard, the classic Tavel, is among the most honest of the name, but it did not stop there. In tribute to his grandfather, the last few years, he produced Les Vignes d'Eugène, a reserve made with the grapes from the oldest vines of the property, winemaking in an old style but seems original nowadays.

2012 Tavel($18) (56% grenache, 20% cinsault,10% clairette, 4% syrah, 4% bourboulenc, 3% grenache blanc and 3% mourvedre): Deep, bright pink.  Powerful cherry and rhubarb scents are brightened by notes of pink grapefruit and white flowers.  Fleshy and broad, showing good density to its mineral-accented bitter cherry and berry skin
flavors.  The floral note comes back on the finish, which boasts excellent tenacity and bright mineral lift. 90
